The Seitz 6×17 digital large format camera is something that needs to be seen to be believed. It is, quite honestly, the most amazing digital camera ever made. Where do I start? Well first, the construction of this camera is unparalleled. The body is made from aluminum billets that are hand tooled into the final shape. The camera uses only the highest quality Schneider or Rodenstock lenses. The camera outfit comes with a tablet PC which helps to process, manipulate, and store images. There are so many things that make this camera one of the most unique pieces of technology, but the mind blower is that the camera takes 6×17 large format images that are 160 megapixels. Whoa. I bow down to the powerful camera. Unfortunately for the consumers starting to salivate, the price of the camera is sixty grand plus the cost of whatever lenses you get. Start saving.

I’ve been looking at Hastens beds for the past year or so ever since they started their latest media campaign in the design magazines. In this time frame, I’ve actually experienced one of these beds, and there is no doubt that they are unrivaled. Everything is wonderful about they way they feel. But when an everyday object like a bed costs nearly $60,000 I can’t be happy with the piece. I’m sorry but no! What really makes it cost that much? I went down to my local comfy bed store named McRoskey and found that, in fact, it takes a lot of work to make a really good bed. Their McRoskey Airflex beds, which are some of the best by the way, only cost about $10,000 ($5,000 for the mattress set) with all the bells and whistles included. So, what am I missing? There is a $50,000 deficit here. This is what I like to call the ripoff fee. This is the pure profit fee that this company is ripping you off for the honor of owning one of their beds… I could be full of shit, though. If anyone out there owns a Vividus and feel like they get every bit of their $60 grand out of the bed, then please let me know.

Description: Tesla Motors has done something remarkable. They have made an electric car that people will actually want to buy. There is no doubt that the Tesla is a beautiful car, but for you speed fiends it has the stats you want: 0 mph to 60 mph in 4 seconds and a top speed of 130mph. Admittedly, the car is on the slow side, but the acceleration is amazing and almost imperceptable because there are no gears. Oh, did I mention that the equivalent gas mileage is 135 miles per gallon? You will spend about a penny a mile to drive this car. Also, since there are much fewer moving parts, in theory, your maintenance cost will go way down (we’ll see). I haven’t done the math yet, but this car might end up being a bargain at nearly $100,000.

Description: OK. This vehicle has been out a whole year. But it is timeless styling, after all. Why do I include the Range Rover sport in a list of design crack objects? Of course, for the most superficial reasons. Somehow, the designers at Land Rover have insinuated into the public conciousness that square and boxy is a sexy form. This vehicle is a testament to product branding mixed with design. There is no doubt that the land rover performs brilliantly as an offroad vehicle, however does it really do anything else that well? The key to this vehicle is getting a lot of high status people driving one.

Description: Why did I choose to mention this car? Because this car offers the highest amount of luxury for the lowest price. This automobile has reclining rear seats, the highest level of safety system, extremely clever mobile telephony, sensitive climate control systems, and all this for no more than $80,000. Seriously, think about other cars in this category like the Maybach. OK, Maybe the Maybach can offer the ultimate in customization, but it’s a quarter Mil. The Lexus is really, really close to this for 1/3 of the price.
