Sara Ferrari designed XCIX_Y, a bracelet that lasts for 99 years, and expresses the age of its user.
Twenty, Thirty, Fourty, Fifty, important steps of life, moments to remember.
Our body changes together with our taste and our interests.
XCIX_Y changes with us and it can express our age in many different combinations.
The inspiration comes from the trees and the calculation of their age trough the number of rings in the trunk.
Every single piece is different, they are 18 in total, 9+9.
The wooden pieces, made of walnut represent the decades, from 10 to 90.
They are decagons, expressing their self as decades and they have roman numbers as a mark to recognize them.
The red plexiglass, translucent and light, indicates the years in between, from 1 to 9.
The plastic pieces also have incisions, this time they are circles, one for the piece representing the first year of a decade, 2 for the second, 3 for the third et cetera et cetera.

XCIX_Y is an object that can be transformed and changed following the
taste of its user, creating a special relationship between the person and the object.

You can play with the pieces, wear them loose or keep them together and create different combinations to express you age.

The bracelet is available for purchase @ www.saraferrari.com

Tran Sam was created for parsons lab class in the spring of 2009. The assignment for the project was to create a toy or game of some form. The idea behind tran sam was to make a puppet that broke down gender barriers. Tran Sam is intended to teach children that adhering to a gender binary is not necessary and by doing so, Tran Sam teaches children from a young age that the transgender community is not to be feared. Tran Sam is meant to break down the barriers of discrimination and transphobia via a fun and playful puppet.

PRESS RELEASE Re-vive table legs by Cohda

With the costs of transporting furniture around the globe, the energy used in manufacture and the associated Carbon footprint, Cohda have developed the
Revive table legs as an alternative. Manufactured in the UK the patented legs aim to offer a unique yet simple furniture solution that can assist in reducing these problems. The legs are manufactured in the UK from previously redundant production equipment that has now been revived by Cohda.

Attached and removed within seconds and without the need for expertise or tools, the legs can be used to produce a variety of permanent and semi permanent tables, in various scale, depth and surface diameters. The Re-vive table legs can be attached to most waste rigid materials and endlessly reused to create uniquely sustainable pieces of furniture.

52 Editions Features A New, Fabulous Photograph Each Week At A Price That Everyone Can Afford…All For The Love Of Art.

52 Editions is the anti-gallery. Here is how it works: each week, the 52 Editions website (http://www.52editions.com) features an original photograph for less than $50. Its weekly goal: to demolish the misconception that collecting great photography is a privilege solely for the hoity-toity.

Launching this month, the 52 Editions website features a weekly photograph handpicked by curator and all around international man of photography Arnaud Gregori. How is this different than the typical, run-of-the-mill art gallery? Rather than representing specific artists and pushing their works, Gregori selects an individual photograph on a case-by-case basis. So if Gregori deems it worthy, it doesn\’t matter whether the photographer is an amateur or professional, anonymous or famous.

Thus, 52 Edition\’s postmodern approach to art dealing is more about spreading the shutterbug love than making a buck.

Says Gregori about his new venture: “Because we are constantly bombarded by slick images whose only purpose are to sell us more stuff, It is very important for me to showcase honest photographs, which exist solely because they capture something beautiful… a landscape, an object, a moment.”

About Arnaud Gregori:
In addition to curating numerous photography exhibits, Arnaud Gregori has more than 20 years of experience working with some of the world\’s most renown professional photographers and is also the co-founder of the prestigious Los Angeles-based Paris Photo Lab & Imaging.
