There are so many design decisions made here which advance the cyclist’s sensibilities into actual clothing. Please have a look at the link below, and you will see the various good ideas put into a beautiful pair of cycling jeans. I have not looked up the price, but i’m guessing expensive.

I don’t know if I should be pissed off or in love after reading this post at Wallpaper*. Why should I care? For one, the fashions from Maison Margiela pushes the limits of what I should wear into a mysterious abstract art. Although I feel they rule the edge of excitement in fashion, why is it that fashion houses feel so inclined to enter new territories such as interior and furniture design? Although this concept can work, I feel that often times fashion brands feel the pressure of making more and more money by expanding their brands to any object they can get a hold of rather than sticking with their core skills. The result is a future that holds Maison Margiela branded tube socks and coffee cups. Of course, if these objects actually existed I would be buying. I ain’t gonna lie.

I live in the Mission District of San Francisco where there is a great concentration of fleabag hotels. I’ve never stayed in one, but I’ve imagined them in my mind as I walk by them in the morning on my way to the subway. The rooms, I’d imagined, were filled with threadbare furniture and stains of all sorts. I also imagined smack in the middle of the room a bed that looks somewhat like this bag from Chanel: a dirty, ragged, unshapely mess resembling a rectangle. Let’s not lie, though. There is something about the rawness of it all that gives me an instant erection. This bag is a mixture of prostitution, dirty sex, and a rainy night on a streetcorner mixed with just a hint of Hampton shabby chic.

I read that Nancy Wu is a design student, and I kind of figured as much. Why? Because there are two traits design students always seem to have. First, students are not afraid to go way out there with their experiments. Using a dried meat product as fabric for a purse- check. Second, design students are obsessed with popular icons. Twenty years ago when I was in school we all used Rambo and regan as our clownish icons. Today, we look to fashion brands such as Chanel.

As studentish as this purse is, I’ve come to realize that jerky texture is quite nice, and I thank miss Wu for opening my eyes to edible fashion beyond underwear made out of fruit rollups.

A Couple of years ago, my wife and I spent a few hours in Macy’s doing what we called the Celebrity Smell-Off. Over the course of this time, we smelled Britney, Paris, Sex and the City, and even Desparate Housewives. But all the time, I wanted a real man’s scent that I might take home. Finally, one that I can really get behind: The scoul in the white tuxedo, I like to call him. That’s right. P-Diddy. Now, if I could only get a sample of this to see if the sweet life is really for me.
