I don’t know if I should be pissed off or in love after reading this post at Wallpaper*. Why should I care? For one, the fashions from Maison Margiela pushes the limits of what I should wear into a mysterious abstract art. Although I feel they rule the edge of excitement in fashion, why is it that fashion houses feel so inclined to enter new territories such as interior and furniture design? Although this concept can work, I feel that often times fashion brands feel the pressure of making more and more money by expanding their brands to any object they can get a hold of rather than sticking with their core skills. The result is a future that holds Maison Margiela branded tube socks and coffee cups. Of course, if these objects actually existed I would be buying. I ain’t gonna lie.

I think the name is interesting because my first thought was the designer named the fail bench because this was a botched project that he or she made, and didn’t want to pass it off as a mistake so they named it "Fail Bench". My more deep seeded meaning for it’s name is that I’ve failed as a human being to get my weight to an acceptable level and I’ve bought this bench to act as my scarlet letter, of sorts. Well, fuck you Fail Bench.

But nearly all of the antlers on the market are in the coat rack size. None have been miniaturized before. Second, the design takes an everyday mundane invention such as an outlet cover and gives it something that is not only very functional but also beautiful. This breaks the paradigm of the painted "custom" cover you see and turns the cover into sculpture.
Deer Socket | Design Milk

Let’s face it, we all want to make an extra buck. But it makes it so much more simple for me to sell goods when the goods are just so… good. Today, I’m exploring feelmorehuman.com’s collection of Vessel’s Architectural Pottery re-issues from San Diego. The pieces are a higher plane of lovely. Most ceramic vessels in their collection come in ultra-simple white. But color is occasionally added such as in the WS-4 pieces. If you are looking for a gift for the zen modernist gardener in your life then look no further.

There is nothing terribly smart about creating furniture around a charging station. It’s just that it needs to be done. So often we designers design for how we lived our lives twenty years ago and not for how we live our lives now. The Bedford Smart Recharge Station recognizes your needs: pay bills, hold the mail, store notes, charge your stuff. If I had one of these simple pieces of furniture I would now have hours of my life back that I spent searching for where I’ve put my phone.

This might very well be the designers to look at. Their fabric work suggests industrial wastelands, flowers juxtaposed with grainy penwork of enlarged Maurice Sendak children’s books, and gritty abstract lines.

The sculptural manipulations suggest possibly picking up the a bowl rather than dipping into it (as an example). As well, the plateware accentuates the food not as a backdrop but as a participator in the food the same way Frank Gehry’s Bilbao museum engages its art.

I recently received an email from this company: Paradoxy Products. I believe they were writing to make me aware of their chess set, but to be honest I only wanted to write about their DecisionPaper. What is it? It’s a note pad with a cut directly in the middle of the paper. What does it do? It helps you make decisions. It’s similar to flipping a coin. What you do is think of a question that may lead you to a yes or no answer. Simply write “yes” on one side of the paper and “no” on the other side. Now rip the paper and the side with the most amount of paper is the decision you make. It’s a game of chance, but a fun game. If the decision is, ” should I get married to my fiance or should I cheat on her with he sister?” you may consider another more rational method of decision making. Otherwise, DecisionPaper is as good of a way as any to make decisions.
