QLOCKTWO: everyone else posted this, why not me?
I really don’t think anyone goes out looking for a clock anymore. So, to realy differentiate yourself in the time telling business you have to make something like qlocktwo. it uses this weird letter matrix to spell out the time in five minute intervals. And it does this at the low price of twelve hundred [...]
Camper Kart : KEVIN CYR
This is a great example of how important the shopping cart is as a mode of transportation for certain sectors of society. I’m not sure what mr. cyr is aiming at by combining a shopping cart with a camper, but it seems to me that he sees the shopping cart as a natural extension from [...]
reincarnation: trash as inspiration for tableware
Yet another remake of everyday objects as precious little trinkets. I like them all, so keep them coming. I’ve seen clorox bottles in ceramics, water bottles in glass, but the lightness of Kutchamuch’s egg crate, for instance, exceeds the quality of any i’ve seen. I hope i’m right in saying that taking an everyday object [...]

Dinner Timer by Emma Caselton
Emma
Emma Caselton has created one of the most brilliant inventions i’ve seen in a long time. The beauty is in its simplicity mixed with its usefulness. What is it? it’s a linear timer that tell you exactly when to do what with your recipe. Simply insert the specially designed recipe in the timer’s slot, set [...]
Designer Profile: 7760 / Ryan Harc
Ryan Harc is one of those designers whose mind you want to explore to find true brilliance. The product concepts he creates such as the A vases shown above exhibit extreme cleverness but with a restraint that can only be found in very few designers of his caliber. The vase above is perfect for a [...]
Lesauskas: Bintoy
Bintoy is one of dozens of objects that this designer has created that makes new uses of everyday objects. many of the experiments are brilliant, like the bintoy. Many concepts fall flat. But the key here is experiment, prototype, and release to the world.

Joel Escalona – Outdoor Furniture
I found these pieces recently and found them to be beautifully colored. Most outdoor furniture i encounter does not have the cohesive strength to make a whole collection. Rather, most outdoor furniture that you might find in this category are a motley collection of dissimilar objects. I applaud the consistency.

Brand Profile: Skitch
I pulled this from Dezeen who have loaded up a comprehensive gallery of images of featuring probably the most significant brand launched at this year’s Salone in Milan. The brand is Skitsch, and it was founded by Renato Preti, a very important private equity investor behind such brands as B&B Italia. Now, he takes his [...]

There will be a lot of design events over the next week or so in New York with the iCFF coming up. I went las year and it was a blast. But outside of the ICFF you’re going to need some things to do to keep you occupied. [...]
Stop the Presses! Maison Margiela launches an interior collection
I don’t know if I should be pissed off or in love after reading this post at Wallpaper*. Why should I care? For one, the fashions from Maison Margiela pushes the limits of what I should wear into a mysterious abstract art. Although I feel they rule the edge of excitement in fashion, why is [...]
Salone 2009: Oh, How I Miss Design!
With the arrival of our son and pressing work obligations, I have gone from a roving design hog to a once per month poster on my blog Design Crack. Still, I can quickly point you to some interesting things via other people’s digging.
One place I go for the Milan experience is Wallpaper*. They have put [...]
Puma Container Store Next Step in the Mobile Shopping Evolution
The Puma Store is an inspiration to all architects out there with lots of time and energy and access to a supply of old shipping containers. I consider this store to be a sort of dialogue with some of the past stores Ive seen where the designers have stacked 6 units high by one wide. [...]
Taikkun’s Tibetan tourists’ prayer-powered LEDs – Core77
This is cute, but I wish it could be serious. I’m afraid a prayer wheel would never actually generate a huge amount of power to allow for much use in the temple. Today’s modern monks are in need of more and more power and would probably require that at least two monks per temple are [...]
