I design buildings for a living, and has recently struck me that my portfolio consists of zero projects that are more exclusively my own. Couple this with my mother’s move to the west coast, my growing family’s need for more space, and the availability of cheaper land in the East Bay hills, and I’m thinking I may design a home for the family. In comes this post from DesignBoom about a home designed by the son of the great Alvaro Siza. If you need inspiration on radical residential design on a hill then this is it. The house cascades in so many tiers I can’t count them all. I’ve been inspired.
