Whew! Finally, I have just a moment to start telling people about the amazing products I saw at the 2008 ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair). Let’s start close to home with one of the Bernhardt Competition winners: The Simple Light. This light is so perfectly sculted and, and… simple… which may make it an instant classic. It’s a modern almost dreamy form that seems quite straightforward. However, it’s ceramic shell is far from simple. Each lamp is carefully molded and fired ceramic and finished in a dull white. The play of light in this piece is phenominal, and if I can put in a personal word, I work with the designers of this lamp which was thrilling when I got to follow the progress of their process. Great job!
