Philips, one of the most innovative companies in the world, has taken a big leap of faith with their new Aurea HDTV. This is no ordinary 1980 x 1080p LCD HDTV. No. It adds two dimensions to the viewing experience that I think are unique with these types of televisions. First, the Aurea is surrounded by a color ring that projects colors based on what is showing on the screen. This color projection shows both on the front and behind the screen creating a halo effect. I like to call it a mood halo. To add to the drama, this HDTV also provides a compelling sound experience. The powerful concealed speakers in this system need no additional help from another stereo system, and thus, yo save a load of money when you buy this full package which is the Aurea.
