Eyeglasses by Sara Eliris for Mikli

Mikli is a glasses company that is not afraid to let their designers experiment. I have chosen to show probably the most conservative piece in their stable of designs. This pair I’m showing above is unique in that it’s clear plastic, but the shape is still defined by the black inlay. I could not find a picture with someone wearing the glasses which is unfortunate because the effect of these glasses is to cause an extreme emphasis on the eyes and the color of the eyes. The glasses almost give your body a whole new perspective because the eyes become such a powerful force.

This, as I’ve said, is the conservative side of Mikli. The bold side of Mikli is to remove two lenses from the glasses altogether and create a sort of wide curving monoglass such as the design from the duo, Bless. This one lens concept, personally, seems stupid. I tried it on and I just look dumb. However, I am so glad that Mikli has allowed for such innovation. This look could be improved upon. This look may take a foothold in fashion, and at that point I will probably naturally fall in love with the form.
