Holloware Bowl by Kim Buck- Contemporary Danish Housewares Design

I’ve been saying to myself for the past couple of years “Why the heck doesn’t someone design more pneumatic furniture?”. Finally, I have found a product that nears furniture and enters the realm of houseware. I give you the Holloware Bowl by Kim Buck. It is a mirror finished blow-up pillow that is made to hold fruit. As a bowl, it’s not so great. You wouldn’t want to eat soup or cereal out of a thing like this, would you? As a piece of art, or a spectacle, it’s extremely effective. As well, the packaging is effective and the price is reasonable. All those factors add up to good sales… at least in the design-crack-addict crowd.

Will I buy one, though? The answer is most likely “no”. I’m waiting until there is a full collection of items to come out before I make any sort of puffy, air bag purchase. I want a chair, and a side table to go with it. Or even better: imagine a jacket out of this stuff. It could be a new form of weight loss. Just wear this mirrored jacket for two hours per day, and you will lose 15 pounds in three weeks. Guaranteed.
