Louis Vuitton Caviar Box in Taiga Leather

And now for something completely opulent. I’ve never featured anything from Louis Vuitton until recently when I made light of the $42,000 patchwork handbag. After that product, I decided to thumb through LV’s website to really get a full picture of everything they produce… or at least put their brand on. After I sifted through the usual handbags I managed to find an item such as this: a caviar box. You know, when your sitting on your 200 foot yacht surveying your vast coastal Russian oil reserves and thinking ” God, am I important or what?!”, you might start to get a tad bit hungry and feel the need for a caviar break. And what better way to serve you this caviar than from a princely taiga leather caviar box? All kidding aside, the box really is gorgeous. And there is something about the kid in me that is immediately attracted to objects with lots of small, well crafted compartments. This has it. In fact, these special edition items are a tradition at Louis Vuitton dating back to 1878 when Louis Vuitton produced a small portable cot in a box. More recent cutesy boxes with lots of compartments include a timepiece box in 2005 and a birthday cake box in 2004. All worth a look if you’re into that sort of thing.
