Over the next week or two, I will include some of my favorite designers from ID Magazine’s “ID 40″ list of top designers of 2006. It’s a pretty amazing list, so I urge you to pick up a copy of this magazine.
Revolutions on Request is a Helsinki Finland based art collective with their eye on becoming rockstars with brushes. Their work is about as provocative and humorous as it comes. A representative piece? How about Jiri Geller’s “God Says No”. This piece is an escalator, painted white in a manner reminiscent to the movie ” Heaven Can Wait” or Led Zepplin’s “Stairway to Heaven”. But instead of finding St. Peter’s warm embrace at the top of this stairway you will find a blank wall. Rejected!
