Horm. an Italian furniture company, has really excelled in signing up some of the world’s greatest contemporary architects to design their collection. One of my favorite pieces is by Karim Rashid called the Tide Cupboard. It’s a pretty standard cupboard or buffet or whatever you want to call this side table, but the fluidity of the lines turns the simple into the spectacular. The piece might even be described as anthropomorphic as the shadows generated on the face of the piece resemble the back of a muscular man. I have this piece on next year’s Christmas list!
