Description: In honor of Design Boom’s awesome 100% Tokyo Design Week, I’m including a few intersting products that I’ve found from some of the exhibitors.
Lamp/Lamp is another very simple idea from 100 Per, but their execution is so sublime, that I wanted to mention it. The light looks like an industrial accident, a siamese twin of a light made by mistake. However, once the bulb is plugged in, you can see its visual trickery. The light, when plugged into a pendant, looks as if it will fall off its base any moment. It makes the light into a more delicate, almost temporal, object.

a wonderful design. i was lucky enough to be one of the first in the US to get my hands on one of these and am very happy with it. my only complaint is that it is overly bright, considering that for aesthetic purposes one is obviously not going to put a shade on it, and it also tends to get very hot, even with minimal use. i have mine on a big orange extension cord hung from the ceiling, a la Admir Jukanovic or Zenoo Park.

That is sweet! I’ve seen this in a couple of magazines now and it’s got this rough minimalist quality that is unbeatable. I love it!
