Event: The Oporto Show ’07
Where: Edificio da Alfandega, Porto
What: The Oporto Show is Portugal’s answer to the major design shows held in Milan and London. It looks really exciting, and I have my fingers crossed that they can pull it off with great attendance. Here’s a bit of The Oporto Show’s not-so-good English Translation describing the show:
The design and architecture of interiors will be in prominence in Oporto from the 14th to the 17th of June, in an event that will be one of the most outstanding of the sector. The “OPORTO SHOW’ 07! “ wants, as of now, to assume itself as one of the most important fairs of the specialty in the entire world. With this objective in mind, the “OPORTO SHOW’ 07!” inspired itself on the most renowned design fairs that take place in Europe, such as London, Milan and Brussels.
The mythical building of the Customs and Excise in Oporto, located in the heart of the historical zone, will be transformed in different scenic spaces created by decorators, architects and Portuguese stores, which will be selected by the agents of the various brands, in a way that each proposal will represent the image of each brand and, in its whole, represent the image of the “OPORTO SHOW’ 07! “.
The period during which the fair takes place will be marked by, apart from the inaugural party, different theme parties designed for the promotion of the brands represented. With the objective of projecting the city and the country, the international representatives of the brands will be present, as well as some of the biggest names of world design. The organization of the “OPORTO SHOW’ 07! “ also has the presence of the national and international press.
