Bend In Dining Table by LDesign

LDesign is a Paris Based Design Firm with a wide range of project experience. They do branding, graphic design, product design, furniture design. They are all over the place. And they come from all over as well. The partners in the firm are Arik Levy from Tel Aviv and Pippo Lionni from New York who bring a varied bag of tricks with them to their practice. The Bend In dining table is one of their simpler pieces. I chose it because I worked in a furniture shop for years and can really appreciate a couple of the virtuosic design moves. For instance, the legs bend in slightly giving the table an anthropomorphic look but without taking away from its modern styling. It’s difficult enough to simply taper the legs, but to bend them in is painfully difficult. But to add to the difficulty, the table has no rails. Rails are the horizontal pieces of wood that run just underneath the table top giving rigidity and structure to the table. The precision of the legs then become extremely important. Anyway… I’m a furniture geek.
